Hand Blown Light Bulbs

A post from www.zoom-in.com/blog :

Check out these unique hand blown light bulbs by Dutch designer Pieke Bergmans.

Her work, Light Blubs Special Editions, was created as a part of her Design Virus project. The droopy nature of the blubs are intended to reflect their exhaustion, their age, their final breaths. It almost seems as if the blubs will continue to drip, stretched by the pull of gravity. The unique shapes are incredibly intriguing, but they definitely have an ominous undertone (they remind me of the melting clocks in Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory).

  1. They’re amazing..
But I wonder how the table doesn’t get damaged by the heat…
    Are they safe?
