Sixx Design Group is a husband and wife team. Making their home in Manhattan, they have built their design business and family together. Cortney and Robert Novogratz, aptly named their firm after their six, now seven children. They’re personal home story has much to do with their professional success. They laugh that with each new baby comes a new home – not always in that order.
They’ve built a reputation on their flea market finds, and knack for renovating the unexpected into incredible family homes. Home is currently a former S&M club, turned motorcycle shop, turned home.
A testament to our times, the work – home lines have blurred. They’re personal passion has translated into a design career and most recently, book. It’s only natural that they choose to house their business within their home.
“Our office is in our home, we often have meetings at the dining room table. A lot of time is also spent at the job sites. Our plans are always evolving and changing as we go…’An architect’s most useful tools are an eraser at the drafting board , and a wrecking bar at the site..” Frank Lloyd Wright. We are constantly inspired by the city we live in and other large urban landscapes around the world.”
The New York Times did a great interview with the pair. [WATC H INTERVIEW]
